Ingredients

  • 500 grams of minced meat

  • 4 beschuiten or 40 grams of bread crumbs

  • 1 Tbsp Verstegen minced meat seasoning

  • 1 egg

  • 100 grams of butter for frying

  • 25 cc water

  • Splash of ketchup

Directions

  • Put the beschuiten in a bowl and make them very small or use the ready-made bread crumbs instead.
  • Add the seasoning, 1 egg and minced meat into the bowl and knead everything together.
  • Make 4 meat balls or more if you like smaller ones. Put the butter in the pan and sear the meatballs at medium/high heat to seal the outsides.
  • Lower the heat once they are browned all over and add a splash of ketchup and 25 cc of water to the pan.
  • Roast the meatballs at low heat for another 30 minutes in the pan.

Notes

  • Eet smakelijk and don’t forget to pore the gravy over the meatballs and potatoes for extra Dutch enjoyment
